Fire Pro Wrestling for WonderSwan (2000) brought the franchise’s deep simulation to Bandai’s handheld. Despite limited hardware, it retained timing-based grappling and a sizable roster of homage wrestlers. Players could execute suplexes, submissions, and aerial moves, with pacing and stamina management intact even in portable form.
The visuals were simplified, with small sprites and minimal animation, but the core Fire Pro DNA was preserved. Multiplayer via link cable allowed for head-to-head matches, adding replay value. While not as expansive as its console counterparts, it proved Fire Pro’s gameplay could scale to handhelds without losing identity.
