Federation Wrestling (2002) was another PC title by Mat Dickie, expanding on his earlier Federation Online. It offered simple but chaotic 3D matches with a large degree of creative freedom. Unlike mainstream titles, it embraced a DIY aesthetic, giving players the tools to create and simulate wild scenarios unconstrained by licensing.
Gameplay was clunky but charming, with exaggerated animations, basic grappling, and over-the-top weapons. The real appeal came from customization: players could edit rosters, arenas, and match setups to create unique federations. Despite rough presentation, it built MDickie’s reputation as the king of indie wrestling sims and directly influenced his later Wrestling MPire and Wrestling Revolution projects.
