Legends of Wrestling II (2002) improved on the original by expanding the roster, tightening gameplay, and adding new match types. Featuring over 65 legends including Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, and the Road Warriors, it gave fans an even broader canvas for fantasy dream matches across eras.
The gameplay engine was still criticized for clunky mechanics, but improvements made grappling and pacing smoother than the first game. The career mode expanded to include territories, letting players recreate the feel of wrestling’s regional era. Presentation leaned into nostalgia, with classic arenas, commentary, and throwback branding.
Though not perfect, Legends II is remembered as the strongest entry in the trilogy, delivering fan service and historical celebration in a way few games attempted at the time.
