Fire Pro Wrestling World (2017) marked the triumphant return of the franchise to modern consoles and PC. It retained the classic 2D, timing-based grappling system but expanded customization to unprecedented levels, letting players edit wrestlers, referees, belts, arenas, and even rule sets. Online play was introduced for the first time in the series, adding competitive and cooperative depth.
With an enormous Steam Workshop community, players created real-world wrestlers, promotions, and fantasy rosters, making the game endlessly replayable. Later NJPW and Stardom DLC added licensed content, bridging Fire Pro’s legacy with modern wrestling. It is widely considered one of the best wrestling sims ever released.
