Introducing the Ring IQ Series

I’m excited (and a little nervous) to share something I’ve been working on: the Ring IQ Series — a new community project that blends our love of pro wrestling with fun, interactive games and quizzes. Think of it as a “game within our fandom,” where knowledge, memory, and a little bit of luck all come together.

The idea is simple: wrestling has always been more than just matches. It’s stories, characters, history, music, promotions, moments, and debates that stretch across generations. The Ring IQ Series is about celebrating all of that in a way that’s playful, challenging, and hopefully rewarding for anyone who wants to join in.

What Kind of Games?

While nothing is set in stone yet (and I’d love feedback from the community), here are some of the games I’m planning to include in the series:

  • Guess That Theme – Short snippets of entrance music, where you identify the wrestler, promotion, or era.

  • Promo Knowledge – Famous lines, catchphrases, or even half-finished promos where you complete the quote.

  • Match History – Can you recall which event a certain main event headlined, or who won a specific title on a particular pay-per-view?

  • Title Reigns Challenge – Guess the length of a reign, the number of defenses, or who ended it.

  • Picture Rounds – Zoomed-in screenshots of belts, logos, or even wrestling gear that you have to identify.

  • Fantasy Booking Twists – Lighthearted prompts where you make a quick choice or prediction, and the group votes on the most creative answer.

Some rounds will be competitive, others more casual. The idea is to have variety, so no one feels left out if they’re stronger in one area of wrestling knowledge than another.

Why “Ring IQ”?

The name came from wanting something catchy but meaningful. IQ makes you think of quizzes, smarts, memory — and wrestling is full of trivia and detail. But “Ring” ties it directly back to the squared circle. It’s about showing not who’s the biggest fan, but who can piece together memories, spot details, or think on their feet.

A Humble Start

This is just the beginning. I’m not pretending Ring IQ is going to change the world of wrestling fandom, but I do hope it adds something fun for those of us who love the games, the shows, and the history. I know there will be hiccups as it launches — some games will work better than others, the format might need tweaking, and scheduling could be tricky. But that’s part of the journey.

My hope is that the Ring IQ Series becomes a space where people can test their knowledge, laugh at the answers they didn’t know, and maybe learn something new along the way.

Looking Ahead

The plan is to roll out the first “season” soon, with a small set of games to test the waters. If it clicks, I’d love to build on it — more game modes, themed events (like “Attitude Era Night” or “International Promotions Round”), maybe even prizes or rankings.

For now, though, I just want to thank everyone who’s been encouraging, tossing ideas my way, and sharing in the excitement. The Ring IQ Series is for the community, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves with your input.
